Origin:
Bred by Wilhelm J.H. Kordes II (1891-1976) (Germany, 1932).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1934 as 'Barcelona'.
Class:
Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Crimson.  Shaded black. Blooms on long upright straight stems.  Moderate, old rose fragrance.  up to 105 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Very large, borne mostly solitary, cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Upright, well-branched.  Dark green foliage.  
Height of up to 28" (up to 70 cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 5b through 9b.  Vigorous.  heat tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.
