Büsche: bis 3 m hoch; Triebe mit dichten gebogenen Stacheln, junge Triebe manchmal borstig, blütentragende Triebe häufig stchalig.
Blätter: 5 bis 7 Blättchen; Blättchen breit elliptisch, 1 bis 3 cm, einfach gesägt, ohne Drüsen, Oberseite mattgrüm und filzig, Unterseite haarig.
Blüten: in Dolden, mit Flachblättern, 4 cm breit, rosa, Kelchblätter aussen haarig; Blütenstiele haarig oder kahl. Blütezeit im Juni, manchmal bis August.
Früchte: rundlich, mit kurzem Hals, klein, 1 bis 1,5 cm im Durchmesser, hellrot.
Verbreitungsgebiet: Nordamerika (Küstengebiet von British-Kolumbien bis Kalifornien).
