Rosa californica ‘Plena’/Rosa californica f. plena Rehder/’Theano’ = Obtenu par Geschwind en 1894. Feuilles = 5 ou 7 folioles elliptiques larges, 1 à 3cm de long, bords à dents simples… corymbes paniculés. Les tiges de l’année précédente s’arquent sous le poids des fleurs qui se forment sur toute leur longueur… fleurs doubles, mais peu serrées, varient du rose soutenu au pourpre pâle... La plante a, dans son ensemble, une réelle valeur décorative.

The plant now grown as 'Plena', which may be a different clone, was introduced to this country ...from the American firm Bobbink and Atkins of New Jersey....A conspicuous feature of the buds is the long and slender tips to the sepals.
