Introduced in United Kingdom by James Colvill
in before 1825 as 'Rosa microphylla
Roxb. ex Lindl. synonym'.
Pink. Flowers lilac pink on short pedicels. Double (17-25 petals) bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season.
Height of up to 6' (up to 185 cm). Width of up to 5' (up to 150 cm).
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Produces decorative hips.
Current botanic name: R. roxburghii f. roxburghii. The original Chestnut rose which was discovered in Asia was this double form of R. roxburghii.
