The Missouri Botanical Garden Plant Finder page for R. setigera says it needs moist to wet soil, and grows to 12 feet tall and up to 10 feet wide, in full to light shade. (I'll say light shade is best in most places in hot summer areas, it grows along ravines and river bottom areas, and I'll have to leave to others to grow it and R. setigera serena.) It has good fall color.
