Armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, well-branched.  Medium, matte, dark green foliage.  7 to 9 leaflets.  

Height: 5' to 10' (150 to 305cm).  Width: 4' to 10' (120 to 305cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for specimen.  Vigorous.  produces decorative hips.

Notes:
Roses of Erin provide this description: This rose succeeds in most soils, and grows well in heavy clay soils. It dislikes water-logged soils. R. hemsleyana is very closely related to, and possibly no more than a part of, R. setipoda. It hybridizes freely with other members of the genus.
