Roy Rumsey.  The Best Roses of the Last Five Years.
Scarlet Queen Elizabeth is it a Floribunda? Is it a Hybrid Tea? Is it a shrub rose? Why all the fuss about what class it should be in! It is just 'Scarlet Queen Elizabeth' and I am sure it does not mind going alone. A very tall vigorous free-flowering bush and the rather globular flowers of a rich vermilion scarlet are borne on long stems. It is excellent as a cut flower and keeps well in water if picked just before the bloom starts to lose colour.

Scarlet Queen Elizabeth Floribunda (Dickson) Brilliant flame-scarlet, semi-double, large cluster of medium to large sized flowers produced in great abundance on long stems and extremely healthy growth. This variety will outshine any other rose as a garden display specimen. It is a "traffic-stopper" and ideal for hedge purposes.
