Bred by Desiré Thomas (France, 1853).
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Velvety deep crimson, poppy red shading.  Medium, semi-double to double, in small clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.

Maréchal Michel Ney (January 10, 1769 Saarlouis - December 7, 1815 Paris), French General, was created by Napoléon the Duc d'Elchingen (June 6, 1808), and Prince de la Moskowa (March 25, 1813). The altter titled was conferred after the victory of Borodino (September 7, 1812). Maréchal Ney was executed after a treason process following the restoration of Louis XVIII.
