Spong. U.K., 1805. This interesting little bush, a typical form of Rosa centifolia, and midway in size between 'de Meaux' and 'Petite de Hollande', is very early flowering, and is generally over before the larger forms are in flower. The habit is bushy and upright, much branched, with rounded leaf segments and coarsely toothed margins. The flowers are cupped, opening flat; they are not very shapely, nor are they pompons, and their numerous petals stay conspiciously on the plants when the flowers have faded - an unfortunate habit of some of the older roses, but in none so objectionable as in this plant. In all other respects it is good. 4 to 5 feet.
