'R. villosa mollissima' rose Reviews & Comments

My dates under the photo R. molliissima are incorrect. I intended to give the dates for when Sowerby began his illustrations of the book and when completed. The date should be 1790-1814 --slip of the finger (though some sources give the completion date as 1813). Please correct this. thank you

According to William Robinson's THE WILD GARDEN. (5th edition, 1895), Rosa mollissima grows wild in England. He mentions it in writing of R. villosa: "Under it [R. villosa] we have R. tomentosa, with a large, pale pink flowers, and R. mollissima with a smaller, deeper-coloured flower." (p.293)
