'White Romance' (GLE01). An outstanding new white rose with large floribunda shaped blooms which appear in both large and small clusters that are always nicely spaced on the bush. It should be noted that in very cool weather blooms can be flushed with the softest pink. Extraordinarily dark green glossy foliage complements the pure white blooms making them sparkle. The plant itself is vigorous yet compact. It looks stunning as a white standard. Both bush and flower withstand wind and rain well. Awarded Certificate of Merit, Palmerston North Rose Trial Ground, New Zealand (2005). Floribunda. White. Symmetrical, full and shapely. Flower Size 100 - 110mm. Petal Count 35. Height 1 - 1.2m. Habit Full and rounded. Fragrance 2. Disease Resistance Very High. Parentage 'Anniversary' x 'Sky Tower'. Year of Release 2006. Introducer Anthony Tesselaar.

Te Awamutu: Makes a good show of white blooms. Bay of Plenty: Repeats well, plenty of new growth, flowers could do with more substance to petals. Manawatu: Good garden rose, more refined than 'Iceberg' but later flowering, some blackspot, cutting grown plants can struggle. Hutt Valley: This is the new 'Iceberg', fabulous rose. Marlborough: Love this rose with its pristine health and blooms which last well. South Canterbury: Very beautiful rose, repeats reasonably quickly, look after it and it rewards you. North Otago: Taken awhile to get going, healthy glossy foliage, good repeat, lots of blooms. Otago: Hopefully an improved, more compact Iceberg, with prettier flowers too.

p28 Jan Barnett. 'White Romance' a very well-behaved rose of stunning 'Persil' white, can be used for showing, and healthy.

p41 Hayden Foulds. Pick of the Bunch. 'white Romance' (Gle01). Certificate of Merit 2005. Potentially the next 'Iceberg' has rosarians everywhere keen to grow this one. Unlucky not to go all the way in the trials but very hard to fault with a great all-round performance. Time will tell if this knocks out 'Iceberg'.
