Mr. And Mrs. C. A. Homan.  The New Roses in Queensland
Climbing Texas Centennial. A splendid climbing sport which blooms evenly, in fact, very continuously. It has seldom been without some blooms although they have never been produced in very great numbers at the one time. All the flowers are of splendid shape, blood red toning to cerise in the centre, and are carried on very erect and long stems. Vigorous growth, but does not go half the distance the Climbing President Hoover does, due to the fact that it flowers so consistently. We consider it a very valuable addition to the list of red climbers.

Harry H. Hazlewood.  The New Roses of 1947-48.
Climbing Texas Centennial, HT. (Weaver). In bush form this variety has rapidly forged its way into popular favour and consequently a vigorous climber will be very welcome. It has all the qualities of the parent combined with good growth. It has defoliated rather early this season but this is probably due to the constant rain of the spring and summer in this district.

New Roses for 1947. Climbing Texas Centennial  (CIg. HT. Weaver 1943)  This introduces a new colour in climbing roses. It will be eagerly sought after as the blooms, with their long buds and distinctive shade of the parent variety have become most popular. 5/- each.
