Later flowers had many more stamens than the spring flowers. I collected a good many, but the anthers do not appear to contain pollen. I've kept what I collected and frozen it. I will try it out in the spring on some good breeders just to see what happens. I've discarded the plant, giving it to another breeder who found it interesting. He has more space for growing things than I do, and is much better at rooting things. This means that the mother plant is still around - so who knows.....

June 2010: There were fewer split centers in the second flush, but the balling due to thrips was just as bad. To make matters worse, there does not appear to be any pollen in the numerous stamens. Hips began to form, but aborted after 2 months. This rose is starting to look like a dead end and may need to be discarded.

April 2010: This spring the plant grew luxurious dark foliage and had a splendid first flush. The flowers all had pollen and there were no vegative centers. Roughly 30 percent had split centers. The biggest problem seems to be that the petal substance, while acceptable, could be improved. The substance issue along with the high petal count, means that the thrips rob you of your blooms. The outer petals get sucked dry and act like shrink wrap. I had to remove most of the guard petals to allow the blooms to open. Seems like I had that problem last year, but it was less noticable in warmer weather when the flowers have fewer petals.
