Hybrides Remontants. Groupe D. — Victor Verdier

English Raised Roses.
It may be worthy of remark that nearly all the English Roses, raised by Messrs. Turner, Paul, Laxton, Cranston, and a few others, have proved exceedingly good, and may be depended upon.
The following English-raised Roses are said to be good; but, as I have not yet seen blooms of them, I cannot speak positively as to their merits:
Princess Beatrice (William Paul).—A light Rose, having many good properties.

New Roses
Princess Beatrice  A new Rose, introduced by Mr. William Paul (the celebrated rose grower), of Waltham Cross, England, and sent out by him for the first time in May last.  The following is his own description of it.  Growth vigorous; foliage large,  bright and handsome; flowers deep pink, with clear blush margin; large, full and of globular form.  This Rose Mr. Paul believes to be the greatest acquisition he has ever made in Roses; is equally good either as a show Rose or a garden Rose.  The flower is of the shape of Alfred Colomb, of great substance, and very distinct, lasting longer in perfection than any other Rose.  First-class Certificates have been awarded by the Royal Horticultural Society, Royal Botanic Society, and at the Crystal Palace Show, London; figured in the Florist and Pomologist for October, 1871.  This Rose is also spoken very highly of in various English Horticultural Journals.
