Thrived as a budded plant in Rancho Mirage, CA. My specimen gifted to Enrique Munoz Spring 2010.

Not the easiest subject to use in hybridizing but fertile enough to carry forward.

It took some time for my plant to be established, but it's finally doing well. It's a little bit crowded, but next year I'm moving it to another spot on the fence. What happened was that I left it in the bucket of water too long, and it started to get of anaerobic bacterial growth on its roots. That sort of stunted it, but now it seems to thrive.

Enrique, the plant gets quite large and tall. You might place it where it has plenty of room.

I haven't moved it, and I regret it... This is a very vigorous and thorny plant. It had a very slow start, it just needed time.

Yes, it gets huge.

I can't remember what I budded it to. I think I recorded it on the label?

The pollen is partially fertile. It takes a number of attempts. I now have a number of generational descendants.

I think you told me that the graft was a old blush x whicurana hybrid...

Yes, that's correct. The rootstock I used was a non-remontant seedling of R. wichurana poteriilofia x 'Old Blush' created by A.C. Tunningley.

I was shocked at how well it performed. It seems I remember trying a few different rootstocks.

Well, the graft is very vigorous and NEEDS to be put in a new place in the garden. I'm going to move it next year. I'll take a picture of the roots when I do.

Hi Robert,

Yellow Alzbeta Kuska is the same plant as what I sent you (then called simply Rugelda X R15).
