I found a rooted cutting hiding in a bunch of Rugosa seedlings. I got planted in the ground last week. Canes four feet long from a seven month old cutting and a couple of blooms in a root bound 3 inch band pot was impressive. I have a feeling this rose is going to be a monster but the beautiful white blooms are well worth the space it will take.

Propagation is very easy with seedlings out of this cross. Should be fun to play with. Congrats.

Thanks Robert. This rose may find its way back to Virginia to conceal a fence at my son's house next Spring. It should be interesting to see the performance difference on the left and right coasts, hot and humid vs. cool and humid.

If I remember correctly that seedling gets large. Should make an interesting subject to train on a fence. Petals and growth habit are rather thin If I remember correctly.
I grow a pink Sister seedling called "Bob". Sets a few OP hips.

I received a few cuttings of this rose from Kim in January 2013. I was surprised to see beautiful white flowers today. This cutting was mixed in with other band pots of rugosas and was almost totally concealed. So far the foliage is healthy. This should be interesting to work with.

the same as this poteriifolia: www.helpmefind.com/rose/pl.php?n=5446
They have different 'describers'. If they are different which is the parent of this seedling?

Wichurana poteriifolia is the correct parent.

One of the OP seedlings is about to flower 7 months after germinating. Looks like it will be fully, or at least partially, remontant.

Simon, there were/are remontant Sister seedlings. See "Bob".

That's a very strong colour! Are they from the same plants? There seems to be multiple listings for poteriifolia and I didn't find "Bob".

Simon, A.C. Tunningley produced a number of seedlings from this cross. Some were white and others pink. I had a repeat flowering one named 'Trudy'. It was white and quite double but the petals were thin and it rarely opened properly. I lost it a number of years ago.
The one called "Bob" is less double, a strong vivid pink and opens well. Seedlings from this cross root very easily, even in water.
I've never experimented with them.
