Here is the seedling in November 2011 as it shows its fall foliage. Its pretty healthy so far, mildew never has been a problem.

The seeds from this 2007 cross Rosa stellata var. mirifica x Veilchenblau. Again and again I treated the stellata mirifica hips during pollination with a cooling / heating method which I had developed since 2006. ... So out of a dozen hips I got these 9 seeds (which is a very good output, normally one gets much less good seed material and the most of them are degenerated). This year, in 2010, I tried the method again - a bit simplified and adjusted to lots of hips as I pollinated over 150 of them on stellata mirifica this year. With some crosses it seems to work again, as one can already now, after 2 to 4 weeks after pollination, see some seeds from the upper side and in the forming hips! I tried out odd multiflora hybrids, odd rugosa hybrids and odd china hybrids - and some pure wild species as well. The selfmade scale at the top marks 1 cm (divided in 2 parts by a small point in the middle).
