I have Peter Paul Rubens now for five years in large pots with climbing trellis. It should be grown as a small climber and not as a shrub otherwise the heavy blooms will flop to the ground. Buds are very round and big. It takes days for them to unfold but when they are fully opened you get an insane beautiful flower. Puffy, cupped very full in these shades of cream, pink, Apricot and Orange. I have more than 500 roses in my garden and the fragrance of Peter Paul Rubens is extreme. It's a super strong sweet anise combined with fruit. The blooms last three to four days. After the first flush the rose starts to make new growth which results in a second flush in July and a third one early September. In my garden in Flanders, Belgium, she's really healthy. In very wet summers her blooms can ball but in the five years I had this rose it never occurred. I can highly recommend this rose as a small climber
