The 1901 Wiener Illustrirte Garten-Zeitung entry for the new rose Snowflake does not say that the raiser Albert Knapper was living in Maximiliansau.

Albert Knapper was probably from Germany, however, his nursery in the 1890s to 1902 period was in the Frankford district of Philadelphia. Most publications announcing the introduction of this rose in the 1900-1901 period list it as Snowflake not as Flocon de Neige.
