Height: Medium to Tall. Health: 7.0. Fragrance: 4.5. Northland: Beautiful colour, good exhibition blooms, well worth having in the garden. Matamata: Good exhibition bloom, grows very upright, slow to establish, could do with more flowers. Bay of Plenty: Upright grower, flowers early, ex form, can have weak necks, vigorous, always in flower. Manawata: Attractive colour blend, good exhibition form, nice long stems. Kapiti: Lovely colour, healthy plant. Canterbury: Lovely blend of colour, an underestimated rose. North Otago: Tall upright growth, good exhibition blooms, lovely rose. p26 Doug Grant. Final Analysis for 2010. 'Summer Dawn' (Benidah) - Benardella. Mini/Patio Reports: 35, Plants: 63, Garden: 6.9, Exhibition: 7.2, Height: medium to tall, Health: good, slight fragrance.Blooms are creamy pink or a good HT type. Plant habit is tall and upright. A useful exhibitor's rose for showing, always in flower, repeats quickly and is healthy.

(BENidah) Benardella: 7 Reports: 11 Plants: Garden 6.8, Exhibition 7.3: Tall: Health 7.0: Fragrance 2.7: Bright pink colour with yellow base to petals. Northland: Good exhibition bloom, grows upright, a well worthwhile rose. BOP: Vigorous, repeats well, needs some support. Cerise red with medium yellow base exhibition blooms. Manawatu: Colour a blend of pink and yellow which doesn't excite, grows tall, very good stems for picking. Canterbury: Similar to 'Spring Carnival' only taller and a deeper colour. Canterbury: Lovely blend of colour, an underestimated rose.

'Summer Dawn' (BENidah) Benardella: 7 Reports: 17 Plants: Garden 6.6, Exhibition 6.9: Medium/tall: Health 6.0: Fragrance 1.7: Bright pink colour with yellow base to petals. Northland: very similar to 'Spring Carnival', bush grows well, nice blooms, has long neck in spring, can get a bit of powdery mildew. BOP: a terrible rose, it's got to go. Manawatu: like 'Glowing Amber' but colour more subdued, plenty of flowers, good HT form, lights up garden. Canterbury: good flower shape, picks well.

'Summer Dawn' (BENidah) 8enardella: Garden rating 7.3, Exhibition rating 7.7: 14 bushes, 7 reports: Some health problems: No fragrance: Medium to Tall: Deep coral pink, with copper tonings. North Otago - a new rose that is growing well, good colour and repeats well. Canterbury says a tall plant that produces lots of exhibition blooms, but stems inclined to be kinky. Manawatu - gold overlaid dusky pink decorative form or may be exhibition. Has nice reflex form, very upright, slightly gawky habit. Reasonable health, and produces lots of flowers. B.O.P. - yellow with scarlet edge, very little fading, plenty of strong growth from base. Northland - flowers true HT shape. Repeat could be better, strong upright habit, some powdery mildew.
