Bred by André Carl (United States, 2013).

Shrub.  

Deep pink shading to purple toward edges. Small white center.  Mild fragrance.  up to 16 petals.  Average diameter 3.5".  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary, flat, open, ruffled bloom form.  Prolific, spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  Medium, long sepals, long, ovoid buds.  

Upright, well-branched.  Medium, semi-glossy, dark green, maroon highlights foliage.  7 leaflets.  

Can be used for beds and borders, garden, landscape or shrub.  Drought resistant.  Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, susceptible to blackspot .  

The purpose of this cross was to see if I can get some purple into a hardier plant. There is some purple shading in this one. May not be disease resistant but I will use this seedling further in breeding to try to accomplish a good hardy purple. Sometimes the foliage is variegated like the variety Verschuren.

Does not set hips.
