I'm glad that you're using Pretty Lady! I love it. One of my dead-end seedlings, Remembrance x Easy Does It, was blooming again, and I thought of you. It doesn't get disease, it blooms okay, and its hardy here, but it has one slight problem ..... it grows about 3" per year, and it has miniflora-sized foliage. Go figure. I keep it, because it sets seed, and its a direct link to two dwarfing strains. The discoloration is sunburn. I had it in a pot, with its half-sister, Remembrance x DKO, and they got crispy :]

By the way, Im sorry that the Rosa rubiginosa x Baby Love seedling was a flop. I can send you pollen from R. canina x Baby Love next spring, if you remind me, as it is producing healthy critters.

I always love to see what you're producing, and I find it funny that we're using similar roses in reverse directions (I aim for shrubs and you aim for dwarves, mostly). I'm currently testing out how Lafter pollen behaves on modern roses. Time will tell!

I like the looks of your seedling Michael. Nice color on the bloom and the leaves look great. Hopefully you will get something you prefer more out of that one. We do seem to be working in different directions using the same roses frequently. It's probably because I pay attention to your recommendations for parents and to the results you obtain. I can thank Kim as well for recommending Pretty Lady. I'll be using her a lot for some time to come.

I'd love to give pollen from your R. Canina x Baby Love I try next season. I have a plant of my Midnight Blue x Cinco de Mayo seedling ready to send to you this fall if you still want one.
