This rose really is stunning. It has a moderate, sweet scent and gigantic striped pink blooms. Plant has Healthy foliage, long stems and few prickles. The one flaw is that the stems don't always fully support the huge blooms, so they will tend to droop if there is any windy or rainy weather.

Great, great, great rose. I didn't have one issue with it last year after a slow start. No blackspot, no mildew, nothing. This year it's taken off with a vigor it didn't have last year, which is great. It has loads of shiny, glossy, dark green leaves. Right now it has a lot of buds on it, though I would've expected a few more. It's not in the most ideal spot in the garden...a little too much shade from a neighbors tree...but all things considered it's an awesome rose. Plus, when it's in bloom the roses are big, full, high-centered, and gorgeous. The stems seem a little bit weak, but that hasn't led to any nodding heads as of yet. Definitely order this one from Jackson & Perkins.

I also grow Neil Diamond which is more hot pink/white striped where Hypnotized is more pink/light pink striped. Neil Diamond has a stronger scent, and when the blooms on it are right they're RIGHT...but I've actually preferred Hypnotized overall partially because the plant is more well behaved.

NOTE: During the spring, the blooms on Hypnotized are huge. They're the biggest of any rose in my garden. I've had issues with them nodding because they're so massive.

This rose was purchased this year (2016) bareroot from Jackson & Perkins. Hypnotized! was slow to break dormancy, but really took off once it got started. So far, I have had zero issues despite a wet and soggy spring here in Houston. The blooms are very large, with a great, classic shape. I haven't cut any yet, but they are on long, strong stems and should make a great cut rose. It also opens fairly slowly on the bush, so it should do well cut. The color is very striking, but looks a little odd from across the garden. That isn't really a negative, just a comment. The blooms don't have very much of a scent, so mild would be the best descriptor. The foliage is a really pretty green, although the initial foliage has been smaller than average.

All things considered, this has been a great rose so far. I'm a huge fan of stripes, and I have been happier with the bush growth and blooms on Hypnotized! than Neil Diamond. However, I think ND is a stellar rose with great scent. I'd give a Hypnotized a try if you're a fan of stripes. I'm a fan so far.

August 2016 Update: Hypnotized has some gorgeous blooms and has had zero issues with disease. However, the bush hasn't really taken off as others did and the leaves seem a little small to me still. I'm hoping year 2 the rose will gain some vigor ones better established, otherwise it's a great looking rose on a somewhat puny plant.
