Rose Mignonne. Mönch writes: "Grown here from the R. blegica (R. damascena bifera), Rosa carissima ma Mignone, an early flowering, very large rose."
It must be a damask rose that has been lost.

Nach dem Herr Prof. Mönch S. 122 sind aus dem Samen der Rosa belgicae zu Weissenstein bey Cassel folgende Abarten gezogen worden:
ζ) Rosa carissima, ma mignone. Herr Prof. Mönch giebt sie als eine frühblühende sehr große Rose an. Man könnte sie mit dem Nahmen: niederländische frühzeitige große Rose nennen: Rosa belgica grandiflora praecox.
Ueberhaupt empfehle ich bey der Benennung der aus Samen erhaltenen Rose, daß man ja nie vergesse, die Art oder Abart, von welcher sie kommt, mit in den Nahmen aufzunehmen, weil dadurch die Anordnung der Rosen nach ihrer Abstammung sehr gewinnt.

Rosa Belgica...Prof. Mönch p. 122 lists as varieties of Rosa Belgica, which have originated from seeds thereof:
Rosa carissima, ma mignone. An early-blooming, very large rose.
...He lists these as the most beautiful roses originated in Weissenstein from the seeds of the Belgica.
