Noelene Drage. Why I Grow Roses. ….Then there’s the sporting side of growing roses. Several years ago my ‘Altissimo’ threw a sport which I have had budded and grown on. It has only five petals, has greyer leaves and performs better than the parent, for me anyway. The colour is deeper with cerise in it, not unlike ‘Nancy Hayward’.
