On its own roots this rose is a great suckerer, and vigorous, which is a fine thing if it has room to run. I have a large patch of it. It was planted with several other roses, mostly once-blooming old roses, in rough grass on heavy clay in full sun, in northern Italy. No fertilizer beyond the generations of grass; no water after the first year, with a regular summer drought. Most of the roses love this regimen; 'Blanche Moreau' certainly. Though we've had a dry winter and spring she's currently covered with flowers and healthy.
