Vibert, France, 1835.

Approximate translation:
Blanchefleur’ = Centifolia… thorny bush with a flexible habit… light green foliage iridescent with gray… buds with red noses, grouped in small bouquets… round, creamy white flowers, turning a little pink towards the center. Fragrant and very double, they try to arrange their heart of small petals into quarters, while at full bloom their outer petals curl towards the back, forming a sort of elegant ball…. Vibert, France, 1835.

The Centifolia Roses: The Provence Roses.
Blanchefleur  Vibert, France, 1835.  Not a typical form, but obviously a close relative, this rose has a vigorous open habit up to some 5 feet, with very spiny shoots and light green leaves.  The flowers have a rather cabbagy appearance, but are nevertheless very attractive in their creamy white, blushing in the centres of newly opened flowers, and with red-tipped buds.  The blooms are often quartered and open flat, with rolled edges to the petals.
