The statement that American Beauty and Madam Bellon were the same has been made before, and in order to satisfy himself on the point, Mr. E. G. Hill, of Richmond, Ind., imported some plants of Madam Bellon and grew them on alongside of some Beauties. He states that while the roses were somewhat similar they were far from identical.—Ed.]
