Registration name: Aglaïa (hybrid multiflora, Schmitt, 1896)
Origin:
Bred by J. B. Schmitt (Alsace) (France, before 1896).
Introduced in Germany by Peter Lambert in 1896 as 'Aglaïa'.
Introduced in Australia by Arthur Yates & Co. Ltd. in 1899 as 'Yellow Rambler'.
Class:
Found Rose, Hybrid Multiflora.  
Bloom:
Light yellow, ages to cream .  Moderate, tea rose fragrance.  Average diameter 2".  Large, double (17-25 petals), in large clusters bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Climbing, thornless (or almost).  Glossy, light green foliage.  

Height: 13'1" to 16'5" (400 to 500cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Vigorous.  shade tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot .  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
This is one of the three ramblers Lambert bought from Schmitt and commercialized under his own name. The seed parent is R. polyantha hort. or R. polyantha sarmentosa, not R. multiflora Thunb. See 1904 reference. This is confimed by the newest DNA-analysis.
