Purple - red. Large, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer. Glandular sepals buds.
Habit:
Short, armed with thorns / prickles. Medium foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.
Height: 1' to 28" (30 to 70cm).
