E. F. Allen, Awards To New Rose Seedlings In Great Britain In 1982.
A second Gold Medal went to an as yet unnamed cluster flowered seedling ('Royal Occasion' x 'Matangi'), by Poulsen of Denmark, with the code 76/4114-5 DTP. This has tall and very large heads of orange scarlet flowers. In 1981, its second year, I did not mark it highly since it was both late flowering and rather floppy in growth. However, in 1982 it certainly made a remarkable display and it should appeal both to showmen and to park superintendents.....practically no scent.
