Breeder's notes:
Regarding the origins of this rose, the following is correspondence from Lawrence Davis.

"It was found in a batch of seedlings using seed that I got from David Zlesak. As a freely reblooming pink double it is obviously not just Rosa virginiana x Rosa laxa self. It was an open pollinated bush in his rose garden in MPLS. This plant was unexpected and I still doubt its pedigree. However I have no better explanation than a chance crossing with one of the surrounding bushes of which he had a lot in a small area. It has a rather non-pleasant fragrance (very slight), good color, disease resistance, easy propagation, rapid repeat, bloom at a few inches tall in cuttings. It has some self fertility, so far giving plants with flowers rather similar to the parent."

Added information from Dr. Davis (2/17/2024) "Readily accepts Above and Beyond pollen as they both share the same seed parent."
