Bred by Comte Jean-Baptiste Lelieur de Ville-sur-Arce (France, 1835).
Introduced in France by Jean-Baptiste Paillet in 1838 as 'Augusta de Ségur'.
Class:
China / Bengale, Hybrid China.  
Bloom:
Lilac-pink.  Moderate, damask fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, full (26-40 petals), in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Rounded, light prickles.  Semi-glossy, dark green foliage.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: 2' to 3' (60 to 90cm).
