‘Brownie’ = Floribunda… boutons fauves s’ouvrant sur des fleurs bien doubles, brun chocolat éclairé d’or dans les profondeurs de la corolle et retouché de rouge rosé au bord des pétales. A l’épanouissement, un peu de cuivre et de crème se coule sur la corolle évasée presque à plat… buisson dressé, mais bas, à feuilles coriaces. Peu vigoureux, il exige de bonnes conditions de culture. Brownie Floribunda (Bourner 1959) The milk-chocolate coloured flowers are splashed with rose at the edge of the petals, giving a lovely effect. Vigorous and disease resistant, this novelty is an interesting and attractive addition to the bedder varieties.

Brownie  Floribunda. (Boerner, 1958)  Possibly the most attractive of the brown coloured roses yet. A good clean growth of medium height, it blooms well into the winter months. Good clusters of fairly large milk-chocolate coloured flowers heavily overlaid with vieux rose as the flower ages. These unusual shades in roses are very much a matter of personal preference, but we liked this one very much.
