Thank you Jedmar for adding ‘Morningstar Estate’ 2004 today. Looking at some dates: 2004 John Nieuwesteeg planted a hip from his property. 2008. The Heritage Rose Conference was held at Judy Barrett’s property. 2009 Judy Barrett applies for a patent for a rose named ‘Morningstar Estate’ 2010. Patent accepted. 2013. Steve Beck at Roses and Friends is selling a rose named ‘Morning Star’.
I think ‘Morning Star’ should be merged into ‘Morningstar Estate’ and listed as a synonym.

I suspect as much, but there was no definite proof. Can Steve Beck be asked if patent AU4849P belongs to Morning Star?

Done. Also emailed John so between the two we should be able to get an answer.

Well, with any luck, maybe a Victorian member who loves truth and clarity will ring John and report back to us so that we may either merge the files, or keep separate.

I rang John myself. He reports that ‘Morning Star’ and ‘Morningstar Estate’ are the same rose. Merged the two files.
