Bloom:
White and pink blend, white streaks, stripes, flecks, white center, white reverse, ages to rose-pink . Mild, spice fragrance. 20 to 25 petals. Average diameter 4". Medium to large, double (17-25 petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped-to-flat, expanded , open bloom form. Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season. Medium buds.
Habit:
Bushy. Medium, medium green foliage.
Growing:
Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.
Breeder's notes:
It delights us immensely to name this favourite seedling , which we have been nurturing for a long time, for our very dear friend Barbara Wood of Johannesburg, South Africa. Just as we have known Barbara for many years, meeting at rose conferences across the world, and finally staying with her in her lovely home, we have been growing this seedling for decades, but never thought of giving it a name and releasing it. It seems to us that this rose was waiting patiently for us to think of Barbara and asking her if we could name it for her. Barbara was delighted with our request so here we are, baptizing this very special rose, which belongs to the strain of ‘hand-painted’ roses, naming it ‘Barbara Wood, Heart O’Roses’ since Barbara loves her roses, roses are what brought us together , and the bonds that roses make between friends are fragrant and enduring.
Our thanks are also due to the great rosarian of the past, the Rev. Dean Hole who, in a celebrated statement said that ‘he who would have beautiful roses in his garden must have beautiful roses in his heart’'

Notes:
Hand painted. The database doesn't provide all the shades of pink necessary to accurately describe the coloring. At times, it is a hot, neon, poster paint pink, to a begonia pink, fading to rose pink, with white centers, streaks, marks and white reverse. There are few prickles and it has rounded foliage.
