'Appleblossom' rose References
Book (1940) Page(s) 56. Frank Mason, NZ. More Hybrids and Species Some years ago a Rose was imported under the name Leschenaultiana. I have never been able to find where it came from; it was like one of the Moschatas, the one called Brunoniana, but it did not have the same scent. However, there were some seedlings raised from it. One called Appleblossom was raised by Mr. J. Allison, of Wanganui, and was a delightful shade of appleblossom pink with enormous clusters; it is a very strong grower.
Another seedling was raised by Dr. De Latour, of Gisborne, and this is the strongest grower of the lot; one shoot was measured at twenty-five feet in one year. It was a very free bloomer, but the flowers were not quite white enough, I believe that one seedling has been raised with pink blooms, but have not seen this one yet.
