p26. Dr. Owen M. Moulden. The Production of New Roses. The new varieties which I have sent abroad for trial have not yet been named, and are still labelled with their stud book numbers, They are: M26, M28 and M34. M26.-This is a Rose of exhibition form. The bush is strong-growing and of branching habit of growth. The bloms are borne, generally singly, on the end of very long, sturdy shoots. The foliage is dark green and relatively mildew proof. The bloom contains from forty to fifty petals, which are of particularly firm texture, has a high-pointed centre, and the colour is a shade of carmine pink distinct from that of any other variety. Marked venation of the petals, with a deeper shade of this colour on a lighter background, is a prominent feature at certain times of the year. The blooms are held very erect on their stems, and somewhat resemble the blooms of the variety Mrs. W. C. Egan as regards shape.
