With the same name "Captain Williams" you can find an (unknown)pink portland rose in the Rosarium Sangerhausen. it is also described in the book "Old Rose Old Times" (Christine Meile).
I have bought today a plant this variety. It would be interesting if it is a rediscovering actual variety.

this rose isnt dk red but is a nice bright crisp lght rose pink to mid rose pink blend
