very informative, sorry for the late comment. :) apart from the colour difference, is there any difference between the scent, or do the flowers last longer when cut as buds? Thank you!

I'll repeat the exercise and pay attention to the scent this time PeterHeis. Etoile de Lyon is one of the Tea roses with blooms that aren't as fleeting as many Teas. The petals are quite substantial and they last quite a long time on the bush and when cut. In hot weather, they open more slowly if cut as buds and brought into a cooler environment but there's probably not a lot of difference when the weather is mild.
