MONET
Hi, Mike! Are you willing to sell me some cuttings of your 'Monet' (the mauve one)? ...or a plant (on its own roots, if possible), if that's available? I know you guys are literally freezing out there, but I figured it couldn't hurt to get a jump on things. :)

Yes I do. What kind of cuttings do you want? I could send you some if the weather there is okay for that kind of shipping.

Obviously an already rooted cutting would be great but if thats not possible perhaps 3 4-6 inch cuttings with leaves kept moist would do. If you accept paypal I could reimburse you for shipping charges. I have a hybrid tea rose that is one of my favorites s It is a bright Orange with a little yellow that opens like an English Rose and smells like Fragrant Cloud The rose was labeled Northern Lights but It isnt the ones listed on helpmefind.I have a mist house so I could root one as an exchange. It isnt available anymore .I got mine 15 years ago and grafted it to Fortuniana 2 years ago.

Never saw your 2nd post. I think I might have a rooted plant available. Let me do some checking this week and I can send a rooted plant or at the very least some cuttings.

If you would have asked two weeks ago I could have helped you right away! All my Patsy CLine roses are now put away for the winter. If you remind me in the spring I'll see what I can do.

Still too early here as we've had a real cold spring. I will post out here when I have one ready.

Michele,
I'm wondering where you are located. Patsy Cline is not real winter hardy, so I'm hoping you live some place where the winters are not too harsh. Let me know, and we can go from there.

I live in Kansas but we were hoping to plant it in Missouri, the Kansas City area. what would you sugest if this isnt the correct climate?

You'll really have to protect it from the elements come winter if you want it to survive. Something like taking a bag of mulch to the cemetery and mounding it around the entire bush. Do you live close enough by to be able to do this each winter?

I am interested in your experience with Brook Song. I am an ARS member in Michigan's upper peninsula, about 20 miles south of Sault Ste Marie. I can't find a rating for Brook Song. I would like a yellow rose that hardy to zone 4 to give me some diversity among all my reds and pinks. James Riggle

Hi James,
So where does that put you, Dafter? Spent many a summers in the UP, mostly Negaunee , but lots of side trips to the Soo. Brook Song is very weak for me, and I will be pulling this year. I'd tend to go towards Winter Sunset (Buck) if I were you, or Morden Sunrise, which is supposedly the hardiest yellow repeating rose. Regardless, there are many options better than Brook Song.
