Alexander Hill Gray (Exhibition or Show rose)  A fairly vigorous grower in Victoria and other Southern climates, but purely for exhibition, for which it is usually shaded.   Large, full centred yellow bloom, best on short standards.   Light perfumes.  3  (Figures 1,2,3 & 4 refer to size and habit of growth) Tea.

Alice Amos (Cluster). Single cherry pink coloured blooms with white eye in large trusses.  Splendid for bedding and low hedges.  Strong growth.  Habit 2. .

Allen's Golden Climber (HT)  Fragrant. Habit 6. The rich yellow blooms are long and shapely and delightfully fragrant. A picture in late spring, with lots of lovely flowers for decorative work.

Ambassador (Garden & Decorative): A rich salmon orange flower, beautiful and decorative. Clean light green foliage and good habit of growth and long stems. Splendid garden rose, with long pointed buds, opening semi-double. Identical with Talisman in bush and type of flower. Ideal bedder. Fragrant. Habit 3. (HT)

Angela Pernet (Decorative): Another Pernetiana variety with rich glossy foliage and many thorns. Stems long and capped with semi-double blooms of reddish orange, shaded chrome yellow. A lovely decorative. Liable to die back on poor soils in S. For A.H.M. Mts. P.S. only.  Habit 3. (Pernetiana)

 Antoine Rivoire (Garden): An older day pink not much grown on the mainland, but popular in Hobart zone as a garden rose, where it apparently thrives. Fragrant. Habit 3. (HT)

'Apricot Queen' (G. & S.): It is one of the best roses in our modern lists. The flower is pink, shaded orange and apricot, and the whole effect is of a soft pink-apricot blending. A lovely shading. Growth is vigorous and healthy, with a perpetual habit of blooming. Fragrant 3 (height) . (H.T.)
