(1910) Page(s) 24, 26. The Evergreen Rose (Rosa sempervirens L.)... ...here belongs the beautiful Felicité et Perpétué, possibly the hardiest of the Group and worth to be considered more. Her Long canes are quite armed, green, the Young shoots redish. The buds of the pure white flat blooms which stand in large clsusters are especially beautiful, soft pink, and stand out magnificently from the dark, strong foliage. This rose is equally well suited for arbors, arcades, lattices, tall house walls etc. Without cover it stands cold temperatures of -18oC without damage, at most the tips of the canes freeze. It is named after two Monks, and was bred 1828 at the Château de Neuilly.
