M. Fontaine's two H. P.s are Comtesse Vally de Serenyi, carmine amaranth—a dull colour—large, full, vigorous.
Mme. Alphonse Aubert, rich, clear red, chaded carmine, large, full, and fine form; the habit is not given. Few of Fontaine's roses have established a high place in English rose lists.

Very branching habit; flower medium, full, chamois yellow on opening glossed with rose, passing to white; blossoms in corymbs of sixty or eighty flowers; wood smooth; seedling from the old Polyantha.
