(Dec 1957)  Page(s) 18.

Border Coral (Floribunda): A dwarfish grower with bronze-green foliage. Large blooms in masses of nine to twelve flowers. Colour is deep salmon and, I thought, an improvement on 'Fashion'. Extra good in autumn.
(Dec 1957)  Page(s) 18.

Dairy Maid (Floribunda): A cream and pink single rose, and a worthy member of the "Maid" series. Good, fairly tall grower and sure to be in demand for artistic work.
(Dec 1957)  Page(s) 17.

Elsinore... appeared to be a much improved 'Moulin Rouge'... 'Elsinore' is a brilliant vivid scarlet, blooming in large masses on strong upright stems. No disease and altogether a very fine variety.
(Dec 1957)  Page(s) 18.

Friedrich Heyer (Floribunda): One of the outstanding Floribundas of the orange-scarlet class. Vigorous habit, blooms not crowded and produced on good stiff stems. A type of FLoribunda that appealed to me.
(Dec 1957)  Page(s) 17.

Gail Borden A really lovely cream pink, vigorous grower with dark green foliage and not liable to disease. Not much perfume but has been wonderfully shown, especially at Chelsea, where I thought it the most beautiful in the show...

Highlight Its habit is excellent, medium green foliage, well shaped blooms on good stiff stems, which are long lasting and most effective...

(Dec 1957)  Page(s) 18.

Kassel (Shrub. Hybrid Musk): A wonderful, fairly tall, scarlet-salmon, Hybrid Musk shrub rose that flowers all the season. Is a vigorous grower with dark green disease resistant foliage. Well worth its award.
(Dec 1957)  Page(s) 18.

Paprika Floribunda. A very nice "Red Pepper" coloured Floribunda. The growth is good, with well spaced clusters of semi-double flowers. Adds distinction to this extensive colour class.
(Dec 1957)  Page(s) 17.

Perfekta, is the President's International Trophy winner for the best new seedling rose of the year and, I think, will justify its high reward. At Chelsea and at some of the summer shows... the colour was hard and untidy with a base rather white than cream, but at the autumn show and at the Trial Ground it was a glorious cream picotee edged deep pink...
(Dec 1957)  Page(s) 18.

Prestige (Shrub type): Will make a good front row tree in the shrub border, as its maximum growth is about four feet. The large cup-shaped flowers ar eproduced in small masses of crimson-scarlet 4-inch flowers. Another good one.
