Here is the details that Chris Warner has sent me, which confirms that it was bred using Tantau's Belinda and not hybrid musk of the Bentalls.

It was named for the family of Edith Holden. The Belinda in question was Tantau’s cut flower x with my semi climbing seedling, the parent of Laura Ford and Warm Welcome. Foliage is bronze, glossy, but not very resistant. It is unlikely to exceed 100 cams.

So this will clearup the issue with the parentage, as if anyone should know the parentage, its the breeder.

I think the Belinda in the parentage may be the Belinda derived from Zorina, which has brought about other brown-toned roses such as this one:

However, it is difficult to prove since most references just say "Belinda", lol =/ Also, I noticed the picture of the newer, orange Belinda is of the older, pink Belinda. Confused yet? Me too.

Now that makes sense. I always wondered how they could have used Bentall's 'Belinda'. Thanks Michael, it didn't occur to me to look for another rose named Belinda but it's a much better fit.

I see that this rose is only offered in Australia, US and Britain...just out of curiosity, is there a Canadian outlet? thank you, Elaine A. Senft

Ashdown in the States does carry it and he will ship into Canada. Warner's roses do finally wind up in the Canadian rose nurseries but it may take a couple of years.
