Cocktail. Cluster-flowered shrub / climber, 1957.   The dainty bright red flowers with their gay yellow-centred flowers show up to brilliant effect in warmer climates.  In Britain they are dulled by greyer skies, and the plants do not seem to grow or flower half so well.  Plants seen in Japan provided the most resplendent display of single roses I have ever seen, and justify its inclusion in this list.

‘Cocktail’/ MEImick: Arbuste. Meilland France 1957.
