Gerard Williams. Final Analysis 1998-99
Susan Devoy (MACreno) McGredy 1995; 'Waiheke' x Las Vegas'. Salmon orange/yellow; 35 reports on 53 bushes; 2-5 years; 1.1 metre; 6.9 rating. Reports on this rose indicate that it is not robust and for most health was a problem with the bushes attracting diseases. The blooms are very eye catching and make a bright display in the garden. The flowers are on the small side but do not fade. A rose that does not seem to have gained in popularity.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1997-98 Season. Hybrid Teas.
Susan Devoy. (MACreno); McGredy 1995; 'Waiheke' x 'Las Vegas'; salmon orange/yellow; 8 reports on 8 bushes; 1-4 years; 1.1 metres; 7.0 rating. Variable reports again on this bright colorful HT which has failed to gain popularity. Southland finds it a bright spot in the garden, there are plenty of blooms but they are on the small side. Auckland reports every disease imaginable and there is nothing right with it. Wairoa likes the brilliant colour. Down Nelson way it has taken sometime to establish but is on the improve. West Otago likes the colour but plant lacks vigour. Northland says eye catching in the garden, non fading and form good, some downy mildew, few canes produced, blooms sparse and too small.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1996-97 Season.
Susan Devoy. (MACreno); McGredy 1995; 'Waiheke' x 'Las Vegas'; salmon orange/yellow; 7 reports on 10 bushes; 1-3 years; 1.1 metres; 6.7 rating. Not a great many reports this year. From Feilding the bush is struggling, but the flowers are beautiful. West Otago likes it the best, healthy and plenty of blooms, makes a good show. Wairarapa is disappointed as it has hardly had a bloom, it will need to wake up or else. Bay of Plenty finds it striking at the decorative and exhibition stages, then fades quickly. Northland colour and form excellent, blooms small and few in number, downy mildew and black spot at times - it is looking better come February.

Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1995-96 Season.
Susan Devoy (MACreno). McGredy 1995; 'Waiheke' x 'Las Vegas'; salmon orange/yellow; 11 reports on 26 bushes; 1-2 years; 1.1 metres; 7.1 rating. The first reports on this new HT named in honour of our squash star. It appears to be more popular down south where the colour is better with less fade. Kaitaia finds it a real failure, shapeless and bad fading. Otago finds the blooms are smallish but healthy and nice bicolour. West Otago applauds the vibrant colour and good picking qualities. Nelson finds the stems do not support the blooms, Bay of Plenty says flowers fade badly, but health good. Southland finds it good in the garden with smallish blooms.
