Book (2005) Page(s) 28. Joan and Ken Turner. Five Favourite Small Roses. I love 'Scentasia' with its soft creamy blooms which are like a small version of our big favourite 'Elina'. It has a nice fragrance, healthy foliage and great repeat flowering. In other words - a beauty.
Book (2001) Page(s) 119. Gerard Williams. Final Analysis 2000-2001 'Scentasia' (SUNscent) Schuurman 1994; 'Tinkerbell' x 'Little Nugget'; 75 reports on 116 bushes; 90cms; 7.4 rating. Larger than normal patio rose with some thinking it should be a floribunda. Pale lemon blooms and plant is tall, healthy and has dark glossy foliage. Flowers are of classical exhibition shape and are perfumed. Masses of small sprays in summer and autumn and a good picking rose.
Book (2000) p68. Chris Warner. Impressions of New Zealand. The most successful of his [Frank Schuurman's] patio types is probably 'Scentasia' but sniff as I would I couldn't get much fragrance.
p107 Gerard Williams. Review of the Newer Roses for the 1999-2000 Season. Miniatures/Patios. 'Scentasia'. (SUNscent); Schuurman 1994; 'Tinkerbell' x 'Little Nugget'; lemon/ cream flowers in clusters; 15 reports on 26 bushes; 1-5 years; 90cm; 7.5 rating. Larger than usual patio rose with healthy dark green foliage. Southland says healthy with lots of blooms and nice perfume. Gisborne likes the shape, but says the perfume is average. Manawatu says the plant has tidy habits and is healthy. A great garden rose and feel it is big enough for a floribunda. Marlborough just loves this one and says it is fabulous in a bed together. Franklin says the perfume is marginal, but it makes an attractive garden display with its nice clean colour. They feel, too, it should be a floribunda. Otago loves the perfume, the colour and the form, good picking rose. North Taranaki feel it is too big for pots. It has good flowers, good growth and good repeat, so they are buying another bush. Hutt Valley finds it is just a delight in the garden. Small, perfectly formed blooms, wonderful scent, good repeat and good for floral work. Waikato also feel it should be a small floribunda. It is healthy and has attractive blooms with perfume.

Book (1999) Page(s) 102. Gerard Williams. Review of the Newer Roses for the 1998-1999 Season. 'Scentasia' (SUNscent); Schuurman 1994; 'Tinkerbell' x 'Little Nugget'; lemon cream; 10 reports on 19 bushes; 1-4 years; 93cms; 7.3 rating. Much larger than normal patio rose. Healthy with dark glossy foliage. Canterbury says hard to classify. Attractive lemon coloured blooms. Too large for a mini. Nice perfume. North Harbour thinks it is too large for a mini but it is healthy and perfumed. Golden Bay says don't buy a grafted one. The plants are huge, healthy and strong with masses of small sprays. Flowers are well formed and perfumed. Northland says the blooms are too large for showing but nice to have around. Good perfume. Paeroa says healthy and easy care but untidy after rain. Gisborne has lovely perfume but finds it a slow repeater. Taranaki says very healthy. Early and continuous flowering.
Book (1998) Page(s) 102. Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1997-98 Season. 'Scentasia' (SUNscent); Schuurman 1994; 'Tinkerbell' x 'Little Nugget'; lemon cream; 20 reports on 29 plants; 1-3 years; 90 cms; 7.3 rating. Well reported on with variable results. This a much larger than a normal patio rose, almost up to floribunda proportions. Kaitaia reports a very healthy rose, lovely cream colour with crisp petals, scent good, grows easily from cuttings. Northland says it is no good for exhibiting, nice to have in the garden, lovely perfume. Marlborough says it is almost a small floribunda, lovely enmasse, crisp and fresh, healthy with good repeat. Nelson finds it is black spot prone. West Otago says it picks well and North Otago there is a good contrast between leaf and flower, no vices. Several reports from Wellington, Wairoa, Paeroa have difficulty discovering the scent and it does seem to be marginal in many cases. Northland has not been impressed to date; but has seen it planted in a bed where it looked 'magic' . The dark glossy foliage and the lemon cream HT type! blooms in clusters make it very attractive when in full cry.
Book (1997) p49. Peter Elliott. In The Trial Grounds - 1996-97 'Scentasia', a Patio from Frank Schuurman. This variety is already well known as it has been promoted through the Foundation for the Blind. It has a strong fragrance. The blooms, which are quite large, are a cream colour and should be sought after for floral work. The blooms are probably too big for exhibiting as miniatures.

p57 Doug Bone. Auckland Rose Of The Year 1996. Best Miniature/Patio. 'Scentasia' (SUNscent). Raised by Schuurman, New Zealand. Parentage: 'Tinkerbell' x 'Little Nugget'. Rather tall for its classification, 'Scentasia' is described by Frank Schuurman was a patio spray rose. The l.2m plants bear creamy lemon blooms in very large trusses carried well above the foliage. The stunning first flush of flower started some three weeks before judging day and was still looking marvellous on the day. The lemony scent is only slight to me, but quite strong to others, hence the name. 'Scentasia' - as named in a fundraising competition at the Ellerslie Flower Show to benefit the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind. An excellent container as well as garden specimen, 'Scentasia' was also recently awarded a Certificate of Merit at the New Zealand International Trial Ground in Palmerston North.
p98. Nola Simpson. Review of Newer Roses for 1996-97 Season. 'Scentasia' (SUNscent); Schuurman 1994; 'Tinkerbell' x 'Little Nugget'; lemon cream; 10 reports on 13 plants; 1-2 years; 90 cms; 7.4 rating. First reports on this new cream patio rose which has had considerable publicity. Auckland finds it very healthy, lasts well when picked and very good for floral art, bouquets etc. Marlborough says fresh and appealing, flowers and plant fairly large. Manawatu considers it is more a floribunda than patio, very healthy, no mites, good dark foliage to complement the flowers, good for floral work, little scent detected. Napier has it growing in a pot, blooms poor, no scent and disappointing. Northland tall healthy plants, creamy white double blooms, strong perfume, growing in a bed looks great. Otago questions where the perfume is, very healthy, flowers are nice up to half open. North Harbour thinks it is more a floribunda and says it is the same size as Northland, very healthy, downy mildew in spring. Makes small and large stems of good conformation. Another promising rose to grow.
