To commemorate the 90th birthday of Roedean School in 1993, Jhb, the committee looked for a completely different rose - combining the past, present & future. They found their requirements in this rose. Pointed buds unfold their firm petals in variations of pink & white, developing into camellia formed flowers

....But the final day of garden visits saw visits to two gardens almost always in the public eye. We started at Roedean School, a private school for girls that features extensive plantings in the school grounds including many fine roses. One of these roses is the Roedean rose, so named because every bloom is different, like the girls that attend the school
